  1. I remember watching old Olympic documentaries on Abebe Bikila, Emil Zatopek and Frank Shorter… inspirational. It’s nice to see clips on those running legends.

    Thanks TBR!

  2. thanks bull ! you made me cry. It brought back great memories when i joined my first ( and last ) marathon in 1983 Vancouver Canada. I came in 3hr.52min.40sec. it was nice to see all my running heroes too, Bikila, salazar, rod dixion. Bill rogers just to name a few.
I pray for your knees to get better so you may 1 day join a 42km marathon. Its 1 of the most beautiful exprience youll ever have.

  3. Hi Jaymee,

Thanks for the info about the movie. There’s a good book entitled “Women Who Run”, a compilation of women runners and their stories by Shanti Sosienski. If you don’t have a copy, you may want to get one. The stories are really inspiring!

  4. Hi bullrunner,

There’s a very interesting TV show that aired in the US about a group of novice runners who train, with the help of experts, for their first marathon – the Boston Marathon. You can find details on the show and watch it online here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/marathon/. Good luck with your knees!

  6. I’ve seen that show Carlo was talking about. It’s awesome, just like the trailer you posted. One of the runners is Pinoy and he crosses with the Philippine flag if I remember correctly. It was 2:30AM, playing in the background while I was working towards a deadline, yeah those:)
