  1. Hi, Jaymie! I was all set to run 5k in PIA but at 2:30AM last Sunday, my daughter was burning with fever. I was really excited because I knew you would be there. It was my chance to see the BULLRUNNER up close and personal. I hope to join the Mizuno Run. By the way, why is it dubbed as Infinity Run? Is it because no one is allowed to stop before the finish line??

  2. Just looking at the starting times, the 15Ks are likely to finish around the same time as the 5Ks. I hope the organizers foresee this and does something about it especially if there are a lot of participants; otherwise too bad for those gunning for PB.

  3. I mean 15Ks and 10Ks will finish at the same time, plus the 5K walkers

  4. considering that summer is upon us, 5am should be the starting gun for 15k runners based on experience.

  5. Nora, they have a Mizuno Infinity shoe so I guess they named if after that? If it’s truly an “infinity” run then I guess we should all bring sleeping bags too haha. See you at the race!

Tina, well I’m thinking the usual 10k runners are just going to remain status quo for this race or upgrade to 15k so in totality it would be the same number of runners. That’s my guess. Hopefully, they just manage the finish line well.

Chito, I agree. It’s going to be hot!

  7. Based on experience, I agree with Chito Hans. 15K should start at 5AM or at the latest at exactly 5:30AM. It is summer already and even at 6:30 AM, the sun can take its toll on runners.

  8. Just this morning, I had a first hand experience of what Atty. Jon and Chito Hans were talking about. I did a practice run at Amoranto this morning. I started my run at 640am and finished a 10K at a little before 730am. Even during my run I already realized it’s a different running condition now: first, the sun rises so early now; second, by the time it’s 7am I can already feel the intensity of the sunlight. I originally intended to do a 12K run, but then the heat of the sun already took its toll on me by the time I completed 10K.
If the Mizuno Run starts as it is scheduled now, it will be interesting for the runners to record a personal best under this summer condition. But then, I think it will really be wise to move the starting on an earlier time.

  9. Marga, see you there!

Atty jon and Nolan, I just informed race organizers about your concerns. I hope they’ll consider moving it earlier. The past few days have been terribly hot.

  11. hi bullrunner, maybe you can contact the organizers if they can do something about smoothening out the registration process for this race?

the people at mail and more, convergys makati had no clue at all with regards to the reg process. i was passed on from one person to another, twice. they misplaced their copy of the internal instructions list and had to look for it for about 5mins. when found, they started reading the instructions on what to do out loud infront of me, and even had to call their manager for instructions, and i was told that i can claim my racepack on raceday and not before. i had to argue with them on this one since it specifically said on the instructions list for interested runners that racepacks can be claimed before raceday. all in all it took 30mins to finish my registration when i was the only one they were attending to.

they then took my payment and gave everything back to me – reg form and AR – and was issued an OR.

the next day, i went to the mizuno store in libis hoping for a better and more efficient process since its mizuno after all. again, the people there had no clue on what to do. again, they called someone for instructions. and the lady wanted me to surrender, not present, my official receipt in order for her to give me the kit. i stood my ground and told her this is my proof of payment, my OR, and i should keep it. i even showed her the item on the manual that what she’s supposed to get from me is my acknowledgment receipt, not my OR. she wasn’t convinced. it wasn’t until i asked her to call that boss again to confirm that the OR is rightfully mine, that she finally relented.

it’s more like mizuno infinity registration to me. i hope everyone out there has better luck than me!

  12. Can you post a clear route map for download? The one given with a race kit was just faxed. I can barely recognize what road the arrow was pointing at.

  15. As with all runs…in spite of the lack of H20 and the gripes I’ve heard :D – a run is a run is a run. Enjoy the course, the event, the run, everything else is secondary. Hope you guys/gals enjoyed.

  16. by far the worst run I’ve participated in. From registration at the mizuno store up to finishing the race is a complete negative experience.

no race pack given. no pins. no map. no water.

route was not controlled as taxi cabs drive along the with runners. runners cross the streets at their own risk!

    didn’t enjoy this one.

  17. I usually take water after 4k run from start; I had it at at 7K, i almost drifted coz Im dehydrated; At Mckinley, I think at 9K mark, NO WATER! it was not inifinity run for me coz I forced myself to walk..walk..walk..worst run for me so far this 1st quarter! anyway, this is my 4th run this year alone.

  19. the most worst race ever happen in the Philippine [so far].

NO WATER… what in the world that the race organizer do not provide water for runners at the finish line??? yes, they provide water, but we have to pay for it…. what????? sxxks!!!!

Not many marshals. I got lost. I was ran with the armies sponsored by pocary sweat. There was no marshals who directs runner at the intersection when mizuno runners should go straight and army (who wears black and white) should take right. Aproaching their finish line, i notice that its not my finish line and somebody shout at me, “hey, mizuno! why are you here?” sxxxs!!!!

    No Pins…

    No age category…

    No certificate…

It was the race when i see so many runners should walk because there was no water available.

I went to their office in magalanes and complain about it. One lady whom i met there said that they didn’t expect that the runners will reach 2000 in number. Well, that’s not an excuse!!!

    what a cheap race!

ps. i like the finisher t-shirst tho’

  20. I agree, it’s bad.

We had a Mail and More right below our office. It took me three trips there for 3 consecutive days for them to have application forms prepared. They printed the forms but sent it to other branches leaving none here.

I registered for 6 of us when they had the forms available. Was able to go to Mizuno at Bonifacio High street near the venue. The people there said the packets were just pulled out and I had to claim it on race day.

I remembered this being posted here and on the application form:
“*Runners can claim their packs on the day of the race. Better if they claim it before.” So I thought it was fine. We went there way earlier to get the packs. At first one of the we weren’t getting complete answers from the people at the registration until I found out that they ran out numbers!?! As a consolation, I was told I can still run and will be given the finisher’s shirt after. Ok fine, we ran. Found out that there a lot turned away who were told at mizuno stores that they can register onsite but wasn’t entertained on race day. This is not hearsay, I knew some of them.

I don’t usually drink until mid to late into the race. I had a drink at around 7k. I didn’t know that it would be my last until I finish the 15k and even long after since there wasn’t any drinks at the finish. Worst part is I just found out that the newbies I invited to join were denied water in the 5k race since they were “unregistered”. These were newbies who ran their hearts out and came from a long night’s shift. Good thing they were able to make it still in good spirits.

Then there is the lack of marshalls on the course. Racers being misrouted wasn’t isolated.

Mizuno is a great brand. It’s unfortunate that they are misrepresented due to this. This makes me think twice to join races not run by the veteran race organizers (the two R’s).

Consolation here is the good shirt.

  23. hello! i heard there’s a Mizuno part 2! i went there the first time for onsite registration pero naubusan na ako ng forms and they closed it na :( since i was there na and raring to run, i decided to run “colorum” and dared myself to run 15K..turns out to be one of my personal best times since i started running in 2006 when i was training for our BMC (basic mountaineering course). too bad i wasn’t able to register though. i recorded it na lang sa multiply site ko for posterity. .hay… how can we register for the 2nd run? sana ma accomodate naman yung di naka register before. my thanks and more power!
