  1. Most amazing thing with the The Bull Runner is there isn’t any bull – everything is so factual. ; )

  6. we ran out of singlets(men) yesterday when we went to register, the worst part is we have to go back next week and make another 3.5 hour commute to get that darn racing kit coz we live in faiview.. having 1 registration center – bad idea -

  9. I have just read your post on “Wish me Luck” Nora and its very interesting to know and like you I know the feeling too since I too registered for the 2008 Olympic Day Run 10k tommorow June 22 at the San Miguel By the Bay , SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. It would be my first to join in a competition. First in my mind is to signed up for the Manila Run but after I learned from pinoyrunner.com that there is a race also to be held near the Mall of Asia which is much nearer in Makati I change my mind and beside its still the same distance that I would run 10k. am quite a bit optimistic and excited after more than a year since I embrace running as my new found sport and Months of research on the net in training and other Running related topics preparing myself physically and mentally it boils down to this I just do hope the weather wont spoil the party hehehehe… and by the way I have already signed up for the Mizuno Rush to Infinity Run this June 29. as I look further for the coming Months. so Wish Me luck… pardon me if I jump to 10k n my first its just that I would like to push myself to the limit and win or lost I wanna finish the race. tnks TBR for the inspiration..

  12. Hi, Jaymie,

I’m crushed. Blame it on “Frank”, I decided not to join the Manila Run.

Isn’t there a law that cancels races when Storm Signal # 2 is up?

I talked with Mr. Kenneth Montegrande yesterday afternoon, and he confirmed that the race won’t be postponed. Right now I’m really, really depressed. I signed up for PIA Run but backed out because of my sick daughter. And now, because of the ‘sick’ weather. I have been preparing myself for 13 months already. Please pray for me. I’m getting disgusted the way things are turning out.

  13. Wasn’t the Olympic Day Run cancelled, Alfred? Good luck to your Mizuno Run this June 29!

You know Jaymie, I have been calling, texting and sending e-mail to Mr. Kenneth Montegrande if the Manila Run was postponed or not. Up to this writing, I still got no reply from him. I just want to be sure that it wasn’t postponed to June 29 because I’m thinking of running 5k in the Mizuno Run.

What did you sign up for the Mizuno Run?

  14. Hey Alfred. We have the same source of inspiration–TBR. Don’t you think it’s about time that we put up an official fan club for Jaymie?

  15. A “raffle stub” … why a raffle stub? Can’t our bibs be the claim stub whilst they just print out the numbers (based on registration) and pop them in a box for the raffle? Or is there some thing with dropping the stub yourself for audit purposes.

Too much hassle just to go back in High Street to pick up a raffle stub…Bull Runner – be there to claim your Nano, I’m not claiming my winning stub. ;) he he he

  16. Hi! Nora, Elo TBR and all the TBR fans out there…STORM “FRANK” frankly speaking spoiled everything… and can’t help that day but look through a glass window hoping a miracle that storm “FRANK will instantly go away. Minutes, hours of hope just fade away my long awaited day. I felt so disappointed that day and can’t help but try to convince myself that there’s still another day maybe I’m just too desperate or too excited. YOur will be done my Lord you know better than I just some thoughts I confide myself. And so the next day I call up the Phil. Sports Commission they inform me that the 2008 Olympic Day Run was cancelled and have no definite date yet when. I still have to call them again if they have already schedule a specific date am just hoping they will not move it on June 29 because if so it will be in conflict with my first registered run the Mizuno Rush to Infinity Run but if ever it will happen I would opt to run for the Mizuno. cross my fingers hoping still things will be favorable on my way. hehehehe. regarding the Fan’s Club Nora that’s a great Idea but for now I felt am not worthy to do so since I believe I can’t fully devote my time for now. I will be honored to be a number 1 member. hope you’ll understand my side.
    thank you and keep running….

  17. Uh Oh!!!….speaking of time, finishing time went totally haywire … again … for those frustrated runners – be a self contained runner (e.g. own fuel, own timer) it doesn’t really cost much to get a decent watch and an empty bottle (PET bottle – 200-300ml) to serve as backup.

See ya all in the next race – and TBR, recover soon and see you on the road.

    Have a great weekend!!!

  19. hi TBR,
were you at the Mizuno kanina?
hay, it was okay na sana kaso, sa finish line, medyo nag haywire…
if only i could have assisted rio….
so, i don’t have my wristwatch, nor mobile phone, my iPod time is synched with my laptop with U.S. time, etc etc i didnt know what my finishing time was… pero okay lang, we had fun naman, which is why we join runs, is to have fun.. :)

  20. It was my first competition race after more than a year of taking up running seriously. I join the 10k my first and am glad I make it under an hour which is my goal if not the champion. I presume my time is between 40-49 minutes am not too sure just because of the terrible finish line. Am just a bit disappointed but I don’t want to pinpoint whose to blame it’s not my attitude rather better give some suggestion. Everything goes well if not only in the finish line looong queue so terrible that caught exhausted runner’s so confused. Just some of the suggestions it would be better if the start and finish line will occupy the whole road and there must be a partition and a visible time circuits display that is place above the steel bar in each km distant. hope we could have much technology available in determining runner’s accurate official time that will make the way for a smooth runner’s entry in the finish line.

my time not too sure huhuhuhu… but thnks TBR I give a brave front. now I learned that 10k is a bit long but it challenges me more…

  21. Hi bullrunner. been a silent stalker fan of your site and finally, after privately running austically (ive always thought running was such a private activity) for more than a year (plus stopped running for 5 months)… my friends and i from Life’s Directions Retreat (including Gen, though.. ibang level na siya.. pang 10K ang beauty niya)… we noisily joined the mizuno run (with me underwriting their registration..haha) This was our first race (except for Gengen, di ba ibang level na siya) which we happily enjoyed (My trainer said i would enjoy mizunoi because people were nice and nice looking hahaha)! Though we were in denial in waking up at 5am, we hied our selves to high street that nippy morning. Weather was fantastic (as in) and fabulous. As my first race, i employed my usual runners world researched tactics (i-career ang last leg of the 5k) which was effective naman till reaching the finish line (well, its the only thing i can think of that needs tinkering.. plus probably adding 80-90′s music to the route…para fun.. im not a plugged in IPOD fan).. congrats to mizuno and looking forward to more races, camaraderie and raffle prizes! haha
