Oh, I know I want to join this.  But, my rational self just tossed these questions at me: Can I do trails?  Do I have to buy trail shoes? (No, not another new expense!)  Do we have to stay overnight in Batangas?  (Didn’t I just declare my fear of extra expenses?)  Will I be fully recovered by then? And, if I do this, will I not run the risk of another injury?  Let me think about it.

How about you—are you joining?

  1. Oh, I am definitely joining the 100K solo and so are the PinoyUltra runners. Lagot, I’ve just declared publicly my commitment and no recanting this time.

    DNF not allowed. Haha.

    KEEP RUNNING!

  2. A dream run come true!!! … running in extreme conditions (rain, winds, heat – I hope) This maybe the best 10K for me yet at this early stage (under a year of running) … running outdoors and off-road.

I hope there will be more of these every year.

    ROX here I come!!! :D

  3. 100KM?!?! :D

I did not join the race here i thought that the environment will be too cold for me and altitude and camping. Maybe not yet i wasn’t ready for it.

on the other hand, that’s true you should rethink, i know the feeling of excitement of wanting to join, but! can you afford to not run for longer if an injury is not healed?! (its difficult to act on this either :P as i went running after 2 weeks of breaking a toe :D )

get well soon on the injury!

  4. Very inviting pero alam ko na hindi ko pa talaga kaya to. And you’re right about the added expenses. Not now… But I do hope this will be a successful race for everyone para may part 2.

  8. I’m interested to see how this race turns out. The TNF events that debuted here in the US had mixed results. I hope this race and the other races they have planned in Asia are successful. It would be great to go back and do an ultra there. The 100k is my favorite distance. Long enough to be epic but not as grueling as the 100-milers.

  9. I might be joining the 20K. Sayang nga pala and I didn’t get to see you this time sa Mizuno Infinity 2. I hope your knee feels better already. When can you run again daw according to your doctor?

  10. Atty Jon, would you like me to create a special post for your public announcement? That will ensure your participation in the ultra. hehehe. Seriously, I wish you the best of luck. It should be a great experience for you.

    Idnod, good luck!

Chaia, oh yes I remember your toe injury. The injury has made me a lot wiser. I actually think things through before signing up for a race now. haha.

Jinoe, yes I hope this will be an annual event.

    Mark P, 20k…why not?!

Alfred, slowly but surely. We’ll get there.

    Soc, good luck!

Rick, this should be a good reason for another trip back home. Aside from meeting us Pinoy blogger runners haha.

Takicutie, I can run again!!! As for racing again, I don’t want to jump into that yet. I’ll try to build up to a 10k again first :)

  15. Jaymie, your blog has been very inspirational and informative. Thank you very much for that.

I will be in Manila for 6 weeks and I would love to join the 10k or 20k race. As this would be my first race in the Philippines, I feel so excited but nervous whether I could cope with the heat and humidity. I have experience in trail runs here in the UK(crossing extremely cold rivers), climbing long and andulating paths, and being wetand cold from rain from start to finish). However, it was fun and fantastic as I ran with many runners from different running clubs (about between 500-1000 people). I don’t know the place and I don’t know any runner in there. I would love to run with anybody for fun and challenge.
Please email me if you would like to run with me at rowenachislett@yahoo.co.uk The more the merrier. I’m only small so you can carry me too (he he he).

  16. Hi Cisco,

did you get your 304 yet, I have one and is waiting for my 405 to arrive from the States. It uses the same software so if your 305 did not arrive yet and you are close to me maybe you can borrow mine for the race and just transfer your data from training centre to your profile.
