Saturday Long Runs

After months of slowly building my mileage to 10k, I finally feel strong enough to restart my weekly ritual of Saturday long runs with Annie. FINALLY!

Yesterday, Annie and I ran 13k at an average pace of 6:18 min/km around the village. Every week—barring weekend work, a race, or the recurrence of shin splints (knock on wood)—I’ll add a conservative 1km to my long runs in preparation for my half marathon. Don’t get me started with half-marathon programs; I don’t intend to strictly adhere to any (maybe just an amalgamation of all my readings on Galloway, Higdon, and First). This half-marathon training is going to be all about fun, fun, fun. Long runs here I come!

  2. No problem, no excuse next time. I did not want to disturb anyway, it seems like the two of you had such nice conversations while you were running that I did not want to intrude… lol

Hahaha yeah we have great conversations while running. See you around the village more often.

  7. You look to have lost weight or angle lang yan? Just started running as well. First 5k in ah… 3 months of just paddling. Hay ayun, from 4:26 to barely 6 per km. Hahaha Mind is willing but the heart says… tama na kasi 88% na ng mhr! Also ran with my barefoot shoes (www.vibramfivefingers.com) You might like it Jaymie. Hopefully to be in shape come Adidas event. It will be my running 1st year anniv. Ah, it will also be a reminder on how I got chicked by the running mommy known as TBR.

Kung di lang malayo, makitakbo na ako sa inyo ni Annie. Charlie and I have been running separately. His Garmin is in Taiwan, waiting for repair to be finished. Btw, Singapore Marathon reg closed last Sept 19. Surprisingly they already reached the 50,000 target. Grabe last year it was only 30k. Oh well, QC marathon na ang first ko then.

Hey mark, glad to hear you’re running again. How was your rowing?

Thanks for the vibram link. Boy, that’s gonna get me re-injured. How far were you able to run in it?

You didn’t register for Singapore? Sayang. QC should be good too. How about HK?
