TBR Surprise: REVEALED

Monday, 16 March 2009  |  Bullish Insights

TBR_Teaser1B

Yes, a MAGAZINE! I’m completely thrilled to finally launch this on Sunday at Condura Run! The only thing I have yet to reveal is the featured runner on our cover (uhm, that’s why it’s just a silhouette for now).

The Bull Runner Magazine is a FREE, quarterly mini-magazine packed with the following information:

  • Special feature on runners with great achievements or contributions in running
  • Articles on training, gear, and nutrition by Coaches or experts in their field
  • New running products
  • Calendar of races and running clinics
  • Directory of running resources such as Coaches, track ovals, ortho-doctors, clinics, shoes and many more!
  • Travel photos of runners running anywhere in the country
  • Special feature of a real runner and his/her personal records
  • Plus: Comic relief from Tergat: the Lone Runner’s comic strip

Even better news, the same info (yes, even the directory) will be available on the soon-to-be-improved The Bull Runner blog.

Come back again tomorrow for details on the online promo.

Product Review: Nike Zoom Sister One+

Saturday, 14 March 2009  |  Gear + Gadgets

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Gary Mercado of Kikay Exchange to test a new product: the Nike Zoom Sister One+.  These are NOT running shoes, but training shoes (that’s why I didn’t mention them in TBR).  So, I’ve worn them to the gym, yoga, grocery, Coach Rio’s birthday party, mass, kid’s school and any other place that I can take them.

They remind me of my Nike Lunars but in a narrower, sleeker version.  I think these are my best Nikes ever.  Love love love them.

Condura Run Q&A

Friday, 13 March 2009  |  Race Announcements

Here are some questions posted on the blog comments.  Thought I’d create this post for everyone to see…

QUESTION:   I heard there are cut off times for Condura Run.  What are the cut off times?

Answer:

  • 5K: 1 hr and 30 mins.
  • 10K: 2 hrs
  • 21K: 3 hrs and 30 mins

QUESTION:  Will there be portalets along the route?

Answer:  Portalets will only be available at the start/finish line.  Race organizer Rudy B. said that they are not permitted to install portalets on the race route.

Initially, I requested Patrick C. to please put portalets along the route—at the very least at the turnaround point for the half-marathon.  He was kind enough to request Rudy B. to do the same but the permit, as stated, does not allow them to do so.

UPDATE (3/17): According to Patrick C., a portalet will now be placed on the Skyway beside the Magallanes off ramp.

QUESTION:  Where is the turnaround point for the half marathon?

Answer: It will be more or less 150 meters after the “Magallanes Exit 500 meters” sign, northbound.

QUESTION: What type of water will be provided at the stations?

Answer: Bottled water already poured into cups.

QUESTION: There are no more race bibs at Nike.  Can I still register?

Answer: Due to strong demand, the organizer ran out of race bibs at some Nike stores.  Orders have been made since last weekend.  By March 16, the main registration center, Nike Bonifacio High Street, will have adequate stock of race bibs.

Any more queries?  Let’s ask away before it’s too late!  Pressure!
