The Runaway Maid

She stayed with us for less than a month. And, when she left, we didn’t know that she had robbed us of items almost three times worth her monthly salary.

It turns out that our crooked maid had a love for running! Except for cash, all the items she stole were for running:

1) My Mizuno Wave Alchemy that was next in line for road testing

2) My husband’s Nike shirt

3) My son’s P3,000 savings (Stealing from a kid. She’s got no heart!)

And, worst of all, the two major losses that just breaks my heart every time I remember them…

4) Two of my all-time favorite Nike cotton shirts that I purchased in Nike Campus in the US. (Why did she have to steal pieces that aren’t available locally? And, why my Lance shirt?! Grrrrr!)

– I got this Bowerman shirt for a steal at the Nike Campus. Nike staff pulled out boxes and sold shirts on the field during the Hood to Coast party. Now, how do I replace that, robber maid? -

– Go Lance Gooooooo! Sob sob -

To the evil runaway maid: I wish you trip on a huge rock while running with my shoes and that you gain so much weight you won’t even fit into my Nike shirts. Karma will get you soon.

Ouch. When we we’re robbed, they took my Singapore marathon shirt and a Nike Human Race shirt. At least and medal naiwan pa.

Runaway Maid…had the same experience a couple of years ago.. She ran away with my diamond ring which was my 18th birthday gift from my parents. Bad Maid!

I think every household in Philippines had some harrowing experience with runaway maids. Back in the day my mom used to check our maid’s bags and belongings before leaving us just to check if she took something. It may sound a little harsh but it’s a necessary evil.

our house in qc was broken into as well some years back. aside from the item itself, its also the memories attached to it that makes the loss that much harder.

maybe you should post the runaway maid’s pic, just in case she joins runs and uses your stuff. im sure a lot of us readers will be on the lookout

Sorry to hear about what happened.. I hear running people are very trusting people.. Anyway, i had my cellphone stolen during the rexona run..at 4am!.. They never sleep..but that didnt stop me from running huhu.. I guess it still is a long way to go from being a tarahumara culture.. where there is no crime and disease..

better get a maid from an agency. our helpers came are related to our relatives’ helpers, so they are well-monitored.

@matthew if ever na magkaron ng Runaway Maids event, lahat ng participants required na magdala ng picture ng former maid na me ninakaw.. then sa halip na bib eh picture sa likod.. para hahabulin mo.. pag nahabol mo, libreng sapak sa picture.. oh diba! nice idea for a run! ahehehe..

@tbr cheer up! buti na lang shirts, kesa naman ang nakawin eh paa mo like pilayan ka or something diba..

I’m going through this exact thing! she’s the 2nd maid to do this to me this month! first was a gold chain, now my husband’s camera! Grrrr i’m soo.. mad! i feel so betrayed! i know they’re just possesions, but i feel so foolish! i mean, i lock doors and all but… i must have been slack somehow, and i’m also upset with myself for being this upset! u know what i mean?
