Happy 3rd Month Anniversary to TBR Dream Marathoners!

So it’s been three full months since you—our TBR Dream Marathoners Batch 2011—became, well, marathoners?!  How time flies!  What have you been up to?  How has the marathon changed your life?  Have you maintained your fitness, built your mileage base, or pursued other activities?  Let us know!

For now, I’d like to leave you with this little present: this video from my adorable niece (and dearest sis who gave me permission to post) which should bring back fond memories of the music blazing in the background as you started your first (or second marathon) in NUVALI last March 20, 2011 under the super moon.  Enjoy!

P.S. Check out her hand movements midway through the video!

  1. Hi Jaymie;

Yes, time flies. I have been busy with many endeavors. On top of that, I kept myself with the same training like building my first marathon. I have been doing some duathlon and just like you building my base…for my triathlon. Also, as a promise for my sister who was sick last year (did the TBR for her) and can’t make the NYC marathon last year… We will be doing it this year. Hoping, She will secure her doctor’s clearance. Thanks for remembering us and those glory days of TBR. Everytime, when I’m down and having a crumpy run/training. I just watch the video…After that, I’m raring to go. Good luck on year tri races. Keep safe and away form injuries. Cheers

  3. Hi Jaymie,

Cute video of your niece!..with regards to running, unfortunately I haven’t been able to join as much races as I would want due to work, hopefully I could turn things around and join my first Milo Race and run the half-marathon and go on from there to train for my 2nd Marathon….SC Bangkok Marathon perhaps. :)

  4. That song will forever be associated with my first marathon =)

Been running a couple of shorter races and 21Ks since then. Am now targeting Standard Chartered SG Marathon in December for my next full marathon – registration is on Thursday na!

I was also lucky enough to be selected in this year’s lottery for NYC but am deferring to next year, it’ll be a great way to celebrate my 40th birthday.

Super thanks to you and Miguel for kickstarting my life as a marathoner =)

  6. Hi Jaymie,

Thanks for the greetings ;) That song will ever be memorable to me (incidentally it was also a favorite of my boss). That song, coupled with a Blue Moon, makes my TBRDM the best marathon experience ever ;)

Before I forget, a fellow TBRDMer is requesting that I’ll post this question: “wala pa ba yung certificate at souvenir program natin sa tbr?”

Even before TBRDM, I have joined the adiNation of Runners (aNR). Now, I am assisting in the training of advanced runners, sharing all the things I have learned in our bull circles and bull sessions to fellow runners, most of which are not yet marathoners so you can bet that in the next batch of TBRDM, I will be endorsing a lot of recruits ;) I am in aNR Ayala Triangle and by the way, my other batchmates in TBRDM are also active in training of runners in other aNR groups. One in fact, is now a Team Leader of aNR UP Diliman.

Aside from being a training assistant, I am also training hard for my first ultra, PAU 60k in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija to Dingalen, Aurora. This will be on July 16. For now, I’m in taper mode for this sunday’s Manila International Marathon. And you can bet that, God willing, I will also be joining the Milo Marathon on July 31, as well as other upcoming marathons and ultra marathons this year.

A big thanks to you and the whole TBRDM team, I will not be where I am now if not because of you ;) More power to you always. Regards ;)

  7. Hi Jaymie!
Seriously, I get emotional whenever I hear that song. TBRDM will be special to my heart. It will be my lifetime motivation. I am currently preparing for Milo Marathon. So help me God.

  8. Hi Jaymie!

Hard to believe 3 months have passed since the TBRDM. When I crossed the finish line, I remember saying to Jun Cruz that this would be my first and last marathon! He smiled and said, “you’ll see, in a few days you will be thinking of your next marathon”. Well, he was wrong. In a matter of HOURS I already told myself I’ll be running the Condura Marathon 2012!

My first race after the marathon was the Mizuno Infinity Run. I ran 21k and managed to hit a PR which I wasn’t expecting at all! Woohoo! Iam scouting around for a 15k race for July or 21K in Aug. Hope all is well with you :-)

  9. Jaymie ,Hi ! I’ve been busy joining 21k races and so happy that i finally influenced my husband and kids to get up and look for some challenge – the experience not only changed my life into having a more active lifestyle but the whole family as well got hooked into this.Surprisingly, my daughter did her 1st aquathlon after learning how to swim just for a month, my son won 2nd place at the Goldilocks 500m fun run and my hubby joined and finished his 1st 15k just last month. It was more of pushing and motivating each other – thanks for always inspiring us Miss Jaymie! We love running and we always try to keep ourselves on the right track ! Goodluck in your future endeavors!BTW cute video :) )

    • Hi Marc! We don’t announce (nor give any clues) as to when TBR DM 2012 will open for registration. I will announce reservation/registration only here on this blog on a first-come, first served basis. Good luck! :)
