There’s an article entitled “Best of Running”…

Aaaaw, TBR made it to the list of Most Popular Local Running Blogs. Thanks RW Philippines and those who mentioned TBR, especially those who unfailingly continue to read about all the crazy stuff I get myself into. Congrats to Bald Runner and Jinoe and Que of Takbo.ph too.

Oh, and if you do get your hands on a copy, don’t forget to read this hilarious article of Lit Onrubia, another crazy runner who ran Condura Marathon even if he was sick. Hats off to RW illustrator who gave us all a good laugh with this red-nosed caricature of our friend talking into his phone haha!…

Congratulations to friends, Cebu-based triathletes Noy and Amale Jopson, for their awesome feature on Runner’s World Philippines’ January-March 2012 issue.

When the hubby and I ran The Great LapuLapu Run in Cebu last 2010, it was Noy and Amale who took care of us and even found a babysitter for our kids while we ran.

It was also Amale who encouraged me to run California International Marathon with her last December. I remember her telling me in Cebu a year before CIM: “Let’s go, Jaymie! No husbands, no kids! Just us!” Woah, I was thrilled with the idea and registered for CIM a couple of months after. Amale went on to finish CIM with a jaw-dropping time of 3:46 for her very first marathon. Amazing!

- Noy and Amale Jopson -

In the same issue, Runner’s World featured running bloggers in the article: Run, Blog, Inspire. Thanks to RW for including me in the lineup. Thanks to Monica Barretto too for the fun shoot.

- me in my home office on Runner’s World Magazine -

RW featured other running bloggers: Dennis Ravanzo (Running Pinoy), Pat Concepcion (Running Shield), Noelle de Guzman (Kikay Runner), one of my dearest and most kulit friends Vima Mendoza (Kulit on the Run), one of the most humble running bloggers I know, Rene Villarta (Jazz Runner), Jinoe and Que Gavan (takbo.ph) and Cheryl Golangco (Little Running Teacher).

The feature that surprised me and I was most thrilled about was this:

- TBR Dream Marathon on RW’s Marathon Guide 2012 -

How cool is this? For my little baby, The Bull Runner Dream Marathon, to be featured alongside big names such as Milo Marathon, Condura Skyway Marathon, Camsur Marathon and more made me feel like a proud mama. (Tears of joy, baby!)

Thanks and Congrats to Runner’s World for this fantastic issue!

I wrote about my daily food regimen, how I manage my cravings (really, I try my very best all the time!), my race day diet, must have pantry items, my favorite restaurants, and last but not the least, my favorite healthy recipes (thanks to Harvs for sharing!) I also interviewed my favorite experts Harvie de Baron, Mitch Felipe-Mendoza, Coach Ani de leon-Brown, and Coach Dan Brown to provide you with tips on proper eating.

- This is really how my breakfast looks every morning. I use honey for my coffee instead of sugar and low fat milk instead of creamer or full cream. The apple and banana are midday snacks. Oh, and I usually drop blueberries, peaches, or almonds into my oatmeal to make it munchier -

- I’m no cook, but one of my dreams right now is to take cooking classes (if I find the time). I’ve been eating my tuna-mushroom-spinach omelet with brown rice so often lately because I love it. My nutritionist friend Harvie always reminds me to vary my meals to avoid boredom, but what can I do, I can’t have enough of it! -

This issue has an article on running basics for beginners called “Run for Your Life” and this is where they snuck in a photo of me and a brief interview on how I got started with running. Aack, I couldn’t help getting all sentimental about those early days. Thanks again, Smart Parenting!

Last week, I was invited to guest on Sports Insider, a sports show on Solar Sports hosted by Jinno Rufino and Noel Zarate which features the most happening and most talked about in sports. (I say Solar Sports should produce a show just like that but specifically for running!)

As I watched Noel and Jinno, two of the most articulate sports hosts in my book, spew out names of basketball players and teams from their mouths faster than I could sprint a mile, I wondered: What the hell am I doing here? And…what the heck are they talking about?! Basketball terms—especially the names of players—are a foreign language to me.

But, being the great hosts they are, I felt completely at ease during the interview. We talked about the blog and the magazine, my running, and about the upcoming TBR Dream Marathon. It was a lot of fun!

The show above was aired Monday. There will be another episode on TBR Dream Marathon early next year.

One last thing: I promised Jinno that I would ask all of my running friends—that’s YOU, by the way—to click LIKE on their Facebook page. You see, if they hit 50,000 fans, Noel Zarate will shave off his hair. I say: if 1,000 likes come from runners, he should run 10k early next year, too.

Click HERE to go to Sports Insider Facebook page.

Sports Insider airs on Solar Sports every Mon, Wed, & Fri at 9pm (replays 6am) and on Basketball TV every Tue, Thu & Sat at 10pm (replays 6:30am).
