Whenever I hear from good friend Carlos de Guzman of SBR.ph I get tempted to jump right back into tri!  Carlos told me that the SBR.ph Tri Series is back and it’s bigger than ever.  For the 2017 edition, they’re introducing the LITE category for beginners.  How exciting is that for all you runners who are curious to get their feet wet with triathlon?  Perhaps this is a good place to start.

What is the SWIMBIKERUN.ph Tri Series?

The SBR.ph Tri Series is the ONLY multisport race series that is designed and organized for newbies and amateurs. Whether you’re a newbie or a tri veteran na “nagbabalik-loob” and just wants to “enjoy” the sport, the distances of the Tri Series are challenging enough for the experienced athletes, yet still doable for the newbies. Now with the LITE category, the series opens another stepping stone to capture those who are still not yet ready to conquer the SBR.ph Tri Series FULL distances. (more…)

LAST-RUNNER-IS-CHEERED-ON-BY-DREAM-CHASERS

It’s been 4 days since TBR Sun Life Dream Marathon 2017 and I’m still reeling from all the emotions and excitement. While we’re on our 8th year, each event is never the same simply because of the runners we meet during the 22-week marathon journey.  Each of the 900 runners who signed up for this dream in August had their own reasons for joining, their own highs and lows during training, their setbacks and achievements, and their own stories to tell when it came to the 42.195 kilometers they ran last Sunday.

Pilipinas Trail Running Camp

Sunday, 12 February 2017  |  Running + Triathlon

For the longest time now, I’ve been wanting to get into trail running.  I’ve joined trail runs in the past and I have always loved it.  For someone busy like me and with kids to spend time with on weekends though, I can’t seem to bring myself to take off for half a day to run outside of the city.  I guess I’ll have to wait until the little ones are a bit older.  If you’re one of the lucky ones who can escape to the mountains to run in the great outdoors, here’s a trail running camp you can join:

Trail-camp

Pilipinas Trail Running Camp provides an experience that helps ignite one’s passion for trail running or running off-road. It’s a series of trail-running learning weekends that aims to introduce new and aspiring runners to the sport and also for the seasoned veterans to get equipped in their approach to training and preparing for races, local and international. Runners will learn from and run with the trail champions and veterans together with sports experts and specialists. It’s a five-month program which includes two stay-in weekends of training and a culminating intimate race. It’s the perfect time to take advantage learning from the best and the brightest in the community – trail running techniques, uphill/downhill running, nutrition, training plans, heat/hydration management, yoga, etc. (more…)
