TAKBU’TO is a 3K, 5K and 10K fun run and 1.5K fun walk at McKinley Hill. The proponent of the event is the Philippine Orthopaedic Association Foundation Inc. (POAFI). It is the charitable arm of the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) that provides grants for continuing education of its members, as well as supports scientific research initiatives.

As I mentioned during our conversation, I am actively promoting the event and am more hands-on since my dad is part of the organizing committee. I told him I’m giving him my full support. POAFI is very close to my dad’s heart since he was the Founding President of the Foundation a few years back. He is now their ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees (read as adviser or “elder”, hehe!) With retirement not to far away, he wants to leave a legacy to his profession of over 50 years. Imagine, he was the first graduate of the Orthopedic residency program of the PGH!

It will be held on March 25, 2012 at McKinley Hill. Events include 1.5K Fun Walk and 3K, 5K and 10K Fun Run. Prizes will be given to the Top 3 Male and Female finishers in each category.

Bulk discounts may be given to groups of 20 (5%) , 50 (free tent) , 80 (free tent and 5%) and 100 (10%) and up.
