Surprise! Mizuno Time Trials on 01.10.10

MizunoTimeTrials_6x4

Mizuno pulled out all the stops for the Mizuno Infinity Run held at 5:30 a.m. this morning.  If you were among the many runners who participated in the event, you were in for a big surprise, which was revealed soon after you crossed the finish line!

You did not know that your performance today would be somewhat of a time trial, did you?  Your time today will be compared with the surprise Mizuno race scheduled for 01.10.10.  Mizuno kept it top secret to prevent runners from sandbagging their event.

In the second race, winners will be chosen based on their personal improvement from today’s race.  The great thing about this is that it levels out the playing field for everyone—runners who show significant improvements from their old time in their categories have a chance to win!  With this double racing event, Mizuno aims to send out the message that we must all try to be the best that we can be.

I’m sure you have a lot of questions.  Details will be provided by Mizuno and will be posted here.

Congratulations to Mizuno for thinking out of the box and giving us runners another great race to look forward to—and train hard for!  I can hardly wait!

  1. i ran my first race since the botak 42k, so i didnt over exert myself, ran a relaxed pace, i think i ran 1 hr 50, maybe i can cut 25 to 30 mins off my time

  2. Did you run Jaymie? :) I had a pretty good time with this race. Kudos to Mizuno, yup everyone was surprised (albeit confused) about the whole time trial gig. I was also happy to find out that they gave away a singlet and not a shirt as earlier promised. Fits well too! Ateneo colors nga lang (x_x) Kidding! Seriously though, was a good race, exact same route as Condura. I set a new, hard-earned 10k PR :) Wohoo! This 1.10.10 thing piques my fancy :)

    Cheers,
    Luis

  9. So that’s what that “time trials” on the poster meant… Very interesting. Now I have to train harder. Unlike mel(↑), I don’t think I can shave off 25 or 30 minutes from my 15K time because I ran my second personal best. Which does not take any excitement away from the surprise run on 01.10.10 on my part. In fact it even makes it more exciting. Nice race today (save for the “surprise” change in the route map). Congrats to the organizers!
    P. S. I like running wearing the iamninoy jersey. Congrats to all iamninoy finishers!

  13. Hi TBR,

Too bad I missed this race to see my kids “graduate” in their taekwondo white belt to yellow belt early yesterday morning.

I’ll be starting from scratch come 010110.

  15. Turned out it was a good decision for me to choose this race as my first above 10K. Ran an easy one yesterday. Kudos to Mizuno for coming up with this twist. I’m already excited for the January event. Something to motivate me more during my training. Eyes on the prize, baby! Yeah!

  17. Thanks for sharing this. Yesterday was my first run after 2 1/2 months. I took several walking breaks and ended up finishing +6 minutes off my 5K PB of 27 minutes. This will motivate to regain my old form or even improve on it.

  19. Gday to yall roadrunners! This was a great race. Finished the 15k in 1:11:06.

Good i was able to join this one mizuno race. Hats off to the organizer it was orderly and there was nothing negative to be said of the hydration stations. I got to drink about 5 cups of gatorade and more than enough water plus there was a freebie gatorade bottle after having the race. I must say infinity race is improving.

Everything falled into place. It did not rain the weather not too cold and not too hot either. I don’t know about you, two smooth sailing races in a row (the k.i.d.s. run at u p a week ago) just blows your mind and makes you run like hell out there and capture that mouthwatering p r.

We ought to have more of these.

Keep those legs busy. You guys can also make it.
As always, enjoy every step you take and every move your feet makes (isn’t that a police song).

We’ll happy to yall from the rock and runner!
