Master List of TBR DM 2012 Reserved Runners

We closed reservation for TBR DM 2012 at 6:30 last night. We filled 500 slots in a mere 7 hours and 30 minutes.

By 8:00 PM, we were convinced that we could accommodate 100 more runners (as we initially planned and as some runners had hoped for) and so, in a snap decision, we did.

We filled 600 slots in 9 hours!  Thank you to all of you for entrusting your first (or second) marathon with TBR Dream.  We are humbled and inspired by you guys!

Below is the link for the MASTER LIST OF TBR DM RESERVED RUNNERS – all 600 of you!  (Note: almost 30 slots are reserved for our dear sponsors whose valuable support makes this race possible).

  37. Very frustrating!!! only 600 slots??? A friend of mine invited me to join this event.. Sana lang damihan nyo slots kasi for sure maraming gustong sumaling mga 1st timer to run for FULL marathon. Now our dream to run for this event, become a BAD DREAM seeing the said slots was already closed…

markneil said on Sep 28 11 at 8:10 AM Reply
    • Mark, it’s disappointing and saddening that you have to think of it this way. I will make no apologies to you or to anyone else about the limited number of slots. We do this to ensure that each and every single person who registers for our race is well cared for during training and most especially on marathon day. Our runners are not just numbers on race bibs, each one has a story, each one has a dream which we try to fulfill on marathon day. If there were more runners, we may not be able to manage it and we might as well be just another 42k.

You can choose to see this as a bad dream or turn this into an opportunity to train on your own and reach for your own dream, whether it’s at TBR Dream next year or another marathon. It really is up to you.

      • Clap Clap.. Well said Ms. Jaymie…

Jonard said on Sep 28 11 at 1:59 PM
      • Jaymie,

Well said. Mark, we don’t limit this to be mean to people. Marathoning is a difficult sport. No where in the WORLD does anyone organize such a race, purely for beginners. The responsibility on us, as organizers, is huge to ensure everyone finishes safely. I have never enjoyed any of the past 2 TBRDM I must tell you. I stand their sweating and riding on the course until EVERY RUNNER IS SAFE And finished! This year for example we will have everyone wearing glowing bracelets, so I can see if anyone collapses and falls down the side of the road. All we worry about is our runners, their safety. This is why we limit the race size. And I can tell you I only BEGRUDGINGLY agreed to even go up to 500/600. And it will probably never go higher. We charge a decent fee for this race, we provide a huge amount of support, and we feel we must take good care of every runner. We can’t open it up any more than this.

Entering the TBRDM is a democratic process. We take first come, first served basis and no special treatment. I don’t think we can do it any better or any more responsibly. So whilst we can understand your frustration, please don’t vent at Jaymie who pours her life into this race and serving others. We are doing this to protect everyone and do the kind of job our runners deserve. I can tell you I have run 28 different marathons over 5 continents, and this is far and away the best value for money, best organized, and best runner support marathon in the world. Bar none. We shall keep it that way by keeping it intimate and manageable.

This TBRM meant so much to me. When i first started to run, ive always dreamed of making TBRDM my first 42K.:-( Here’s wishing you could still accommodate a few more avid dreamers like me. More power!

  62. WOW! Reading the comments above makes me feel a million times luckier. I’m a new runner and my friend introduced TBRDM to me just two months ago. I did not even think of joining then. I only did a double take last week, when I saw Ma’am Jaymie’s status in FB that there were 484 slots already. So, I gave it a shot. Well, what do you know – I got in on my first try! :) This is really encouraging! It must really be my time! Bring it on, me! Let’s do this, batch 2012!:) Thank you, Ms. Jaymie Pizzarro for the chance!

Bianx said on Sep 28 11 at 8:18 PM Reply
  63. May I just inquire TBR if all those who made it on the list were “really” a “FIRST AND SECOND TIME” Marathoner and were screened thoroughly since you have said that only the 1st and second time marathoners will be given the priority to be enlisted?

As i was reading the names of those who made it on the list, there are runners who have already joined a marathon and even participated in ultras. Being enlisted in the TBRDM will be their THIRD time to join such..

Sana lang maging HONEST and FULLY TRANSPARENT yung mga nagpa enlist kasi andaming gustong makasali. Let them give chance to those who really deserve the slot.

paul said on Sep 28 11 at 9:02 PM Reply
    • Please email me the names of these runners and marathons you believe they participated in to macel(at)thebullrunner.com. We will verify this. If there’s proof of them completing 2 marathons, they are automatically disqualified.

  72. Congrats again to those who made it to the list. I see a lot of familiar names, which means I have lots of friends in this batch. So excited to be a Dream Chaser so that I will be able to pace you come race day ;)

To those who did not make it to the list, TAKE NOTE OF THIS: I encourage you to attend the bull clinics and bull sessions para makilala nyo yung mga nakasali sa list and interact with them.

From my experience as TBRDM alumnus, may mga runners dyan who will probably participate in full marathon of QCIM and Condura, thus will be disqualified sa TBRDM due to “1st-or-2nd timer” rule. Ergo, they will have to give up their slots instead to first-timers ;)
