New Gear: Huawei Band
I came home the other day to find a little package from Huawei, its new lifestyle and fitness wearable smart-device for sleep, health, and fitness tracking: the HUAWEI Band.
The HUAWEI band tracks daily activities, automatically recognizes walking and running, and calculates calorie burn. It is encased in a scratch resistant steel body and topped with a OLED touch-display. Its design is based on a minimalist and ergonomic Nordic design concept. The comfortable diamond-patterned strap is available in three colors – black, cream and white.
In terms of its monitoring capabilities, the HUAWEI Band offers accurate and intelligent tracking powered by A-Sensor technology. The Band runs on advanced Huawei algorithms that enable it to distinguish between walking and running without the need of presetting. The device’s built-in Cap Sensor can distinguish between users’ idle and sleep states. The HUAWEI Band also includes a stand reminder that notifies users when they’ve been sitting idle for too long.
For communications, the HUAWEI Band shows notifications for incoming calls and smart alarms.
For power, the device has a built-in magnetic-charging design, allowing the users to charge the Band easily. The Band can be powered up in just one-and-a-half hours. This provides it with enough energy to operate for three days without the need for a recharge.
The HUAWEI Band is compatible with devices running Android 4.4.4 or above and iOS 7.0 or above.
The Huawei band is available in all Huawei and partner stores nationwide. Price is P2990.
