I Took the Adizero Gram Challenge

Last Friday, I joined the AdiZero Gram Challenge at Adidas Greenbelt 5.  I was invited to bring my own running shoe to pit against the AdiZero women’s shoe which weighed 245g.  Of course, I brought the lightest shoe I could find in my shoe cabinet, dusted it off, and removed the insole to make it as light as possible.  My shoe weighed in at 230g.  Woohoo, I automatically got 20% off the AdiZero Boston, Aegis, or Tempo.

Had my shoe been heavier, I would actually have gotten a discount too as seen in this chart:

Shortly after the weigh-in, Adidas shoe expert Xavier went on to discuss the AdiZero line in more detail.

I also got to try the AdiZero Boston and AdiZero Tempo. The Tempo made it home with me. It’s scheduled for a road test tomorrow, but may I say in advance that it is one attractive shoe. More about it in the days to come…

  3. Hi Jaymie, nice to see you during the Adidas Challenge.

I share the observation that the Adizero Line is attractive-looking. If only the shoes that fit my foot type and circumstances are as attractive-looking…Someday I will fit into those Aegis!

Btw, I am using sheerwill now in deference to you friend and my tukayo ricov. Haha :-)

  5. Hey Jaymie, nice to have finally met you there! :) Agreed, the Adizero series looks very nice, they look so light that it gets me thinking if it could provide a semblance of support for overpronating, ITB-prone dudes like me. Let’s see how it holds up on the road. See you around!

  6. My half a year old adizero CS weighs 226gms. (bought abroad). It seems the lightness from the adizero CS comes from the minimal use of materials in the uppers. I’m an overpronator and weigh 138lbs. and I find them to still provide some degree of support and bounce altho not to the same degree as my favorite running shoe – the 270 gram NB 826.
