For a lot of us, playing a sport stems from interest, popularity, or health. This is not the case for this running man.

Rhodelyn Salavia a.k.a. Rhodes or Totong came from a very poor family in Tiboli, South Cotabato. Farming was his family’s only source of income. For this reason, school was not a priority. (more…)

There are just no words to explain the devastation brought about by Yolanda to our country. At this point, each one of us should really do our part to help out.

Some of you may know Philip Leroux, a runner, triathlete with the Secondwind Triathlon Team, and running blogger (The Foreign Runner). Philip is a missionary based in Cuyo, Palawan. He’s a good friend of mine.

Philip posted this call for support on Facebook and, as relayed by Hector of Secondwind, I’m sharing the message to anyone who would like to help. More details below on where and when to send your donations:

  • Clothes, foot covering, food, and medicine
  • Cash – please seal with signature and indicate how much and donor

WHEN TO SEND:

  • Now until November 29, 2013
  • Philip arrives nov 21, 2013. Secondwind will collect and centralize donations for him until November 30, 2013
