Belated Happy Easter!  How did you celebrate easter?  I started easter morning, as I’ve done every year, with a long run with friends.  I covered 21k, my 2nd to the last long run before Boston Marathon, and I must admit that I’m soooo looking forward to tapering next week.  I usually love long runs preparing for a marathon, but the heat and humidity the past week has just been excruciating!  If you’re dreading the summer heat like me, here are 10 cool tips for running outdoors… (more…)

5 Benefits of Circuit Training for Runners

Weights

It’s been over 2 months since I started circuit training with my Personal Trainer at Fitness First. The workouts are exactly one hour, but they are lung-busting, sweat-inducing, and downright exhausting. (Just the way I like my workouts!) Run with Dick Beardsley on 8 Feb 2015

Thursday, 5 February 2015  |  Running + Triathlon

DICK-BEARDSLEY

I’ve heard about one of the best races in marathon history. It was in 1982 at Boston Marathon between Alberto Salazar and Dick Beardsley. It was so huge that a book, “Duel in the Sun”, was written about it.  Well, instead of reading the book, we’re quite fortunate to hear the story from one of the men directly.  Dick Beardsley is in town now for a series of running and motivational talks thanks to one of his good friends, Jim Lafferty.

Dick was kind enough to share his precious time with us this coming Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 6:00 AM in Filinvest Corporate City.  This will be an informal event, just a short talk and a run around the carless loop.  There will be no hydration booths or baggage check ins.  It will be free and open to everyone.  Do come and join us.
