TOPIC: The Right Shoes & The Right Technique for an Efficient and Pain-Free Marathon

TIME: Registration 6:30PM. Talk starts at 7:00PM

SPEAKERS:
1) Hector Yuzon: Choosing the Right Shoe. Self-confessed running shoe addict and collector Hector of Secondwind Running Store provides his expert opinion on choosing the right shoe for your foot type to prevent injury, run safely, and enjoy a comfortable run during training.
2) Lit Onrubia: The Right Running Technique and The Proper Way to Use the Run-Walk Method. Lit will discuss the proper running form and technique to run efficiently and reduce fatigue during your long runs. He will also discuss the run-walk technique, popularized by Jeff Galloway and recommended for marathoners to avoid hitting the wall and to ensure you finish strong.

  • BULL CIRCLES are a series of running talks from October 2012 to February 2013. The talks are free of charge and open to the public. No pre-registration is required.
  • For TBR Dreamers, you may claim your TBR DM Official Shirts during the event.

TBRDM 2013: Marathon Training Kicks Off with Bull Session 1

TBR Dreamers showed up in full force yesterday for our 1st Bull Session at Track 30th in Bonifacio Global City. Head coach Lit Onrubia led the 50 minute run around BGC based on the run-walk technique. Thanks to Gatorade and Enervon HP for hydration!

  • Bull Sessions are free and open to the public.
  • We will be giving out TBR DM Official Race shirts to TBR DM 2013 Participants.
  • Gatorade will be providing hydration but runners must bring your own bottles or hydration belts. We encourage waste free hydration for our Bull Sessions.  (We’ll have cups during race day.)

TBR DM Weight Management Session

Last night, almost 80 TBR Dreamers attended the 1st TBR DM Weight Management program led by Armand and Mitch Mendoza.  The program—only for 100 lucky TBR Dreamers who managed to grab slots—aims to provide nutrition counseling and information during the next 22 weeks of training for the TBR Dream Marathon.

The Weight Management Program is a feature of TBR Dream Marathon that greatly benefits those who are serious about managing their weight. For those who are committed, the results by marathon day can be astounding. Believe me, I’ve seen how some past TBR Dreamers would shrink before our very eyes every time we’d see them. Some of them have successfully maintained their weight with running and proper diet.

With Mitch and Armand, I can rest assured that all of our runners are in good hands. They don’t only give each one personal attention, but they do this all for free! It’s a gift. And, I’m glad some TBR Dreamers jumped at the chance to learn from them.

From now on, the next five TBR DM Weight Management sessions will be held at the newly opened Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Bar on top of Muji and Gap, 3/F Gap Building across Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street. I discovered this place only last week and I love it. It’s a little sanctuary amidst the chaos outside. Thank to Jay Ong of CBTL for allowing us to meet here. Special thanks for the free coffee for all our TBR Dreamers too!  (Ang sosyal!)

TBR Dream Marathon is fortunate enough to work with fitness experts and running couple, Armand and Mitch Felipe Mendoza to offer 100 TBR Dreamers the opportunity to receive free consultation and supervision on WEIGHT MANAGEMENT while training for TBR Dream Marathon.

The slots are limited to 100 registered participants of TBR DM 2013 because the Mendoza’s provide one-on-one consultation for free.  They wish to focus on those who are serious and committed to managing and monitoring their weight and those who can attend all, if not, most of the meetings.

Note the following:
– Limited slots only. Strictly 100 TBR DM 2013 runners will be accepted.
– Mitch and Armand will screen all applicants and choose who will be accepted.  Organizers reserve the right to reject or accept any applicant without reason.
– Participants MUST attend the first session on MONDAY, SEPT 24, 2012, 7PM at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Bar, 3/F Gap Building, BHS (on top of Gap and Muji).
– List of accepted runners will be posted on or before Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012.
