Condura Run Q&A

Friday, 13 March 2009  |  Race Announcements

Here are some questions posted on the blog comments.  Thought I’d create this post for everyone to see…

QUESTION:   I heard there are cut off times for Condura Run.  What are the cut off times?

Answer:

  • 5K: 1 hr and 30 mins.
  • 10K: 2 hrs
  • 21K: 3 hrs and 30 mins

QUESTION:  Will there be portalets along the route?

Answer:  Portalets will only be available at the start/finish line.  Race organizer Rudy B. said that they are not permitted to install portalets on the race route.

Initially, I requested Patrick C. to please put portalets along the route—at the very least at the turnaround point for the half-marathon.  He was kind enough to request Rudy B. to do the same but the permit, as stated, does not allow them to do so.

UPDATE (3/17): According to Patrick C., a portalet will now be placed on the Skyway beside the Magallanes off ramp.

QUESTION:  Where is the turnaround point for the half marathon?

Answer: It will be more or less 150 meters after the “Magallanes Exit 500 meters” sign, northbound.

QUESTION: What type of water will be provided at the stations?

Answer: Bottled water already poured into cups.

QUESTION: There are no more race bibs at Nike.  Can I still register?

Answer: Due to strong demand, the organizer ran out of race bibs at some Nike stores.  Orders have been made since last weekend.  By March 16, the main registration center, Nike Bonifacio High Street, will have adequate stock of race bibs.

Any more queries?  Let’s ask away before it’s too late!  Pressure!

3 Days to Register for Run for Their Lives

Tuesday, 10 March 2009  |  Race Announcements

run_for_their_lives

WHAT: RUN FOR THEIR LIVES
WHEN: March 15, 2009
WHERE: Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
DISTANCE: 3K | 10K
TIME: Assembly 5:00 am | Race Start 6:00 am
FEES: 3K (P150) | 10K (P250)

Have you registered for this Sunday’s race? Obviously, I can’t join this one.  But, I can think of a few good reasons why you should join:

  1. Perfect training run right before Condura Race on March 22.  Why don’t you run 10k plus another 5 to 10k after?  That’s what I would’ve done.
  2. It’s for a good cause.  Funds raised will help save the lives of children with congenital heart defects.
  3. It’s organized by ExTribe, same raise organizer as New Balance 25k last November.
  4. You’re not injured like me so you have no right to skip a race on a whim when I’m itching to join one.

    Condura Run Website is Up

    Tuesday, 17 February 2009  |  Race Announcements

Condura launches it’s Condura Race website today.  Click here to visit.  Undoubtedly, it is the best race website I’ve seen; a close 2nd was the recently held Happy Run.

     ConduraSite

    – Look who’s photo found its way on the site! –

As if I wasn’t excited enough about running on the Skyway, they enumerated 9 other reasons why we should join the race.  And, I have to admit, they piqued my interest even more with the Condura Expo (wow, I hope there are huge discounts), a finisher’s medal, marching bands, cheering zones, and last but not the least, running with the stars (heehee).

This race is definitely one of the premier running events in the country.  It’s probably a race that will be comparable to international running events.  Oh boy, time to start training, or in my case, heal from injuries…quick.  See you all there!
