On August 14, 2016, Shangri-La at the Fort, one of the tallest buildings in Manila, will be the official venue for the Manila Vertical Run 2016. This international stair climbing race by 2016 Vertical World Circuit (VWC), will take place in Manila for the first time, circuiting iconic world cities such as London, Dubai, New York, Paris, Sydney, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.  How exciting! My last triathlon was Ironman 70.3 Cebu way back in 2013. Needless to say, I’ve been semi-retired from triathlon. I use the word “semi” for two reasons: 1) I haven’t stopped training like a triathlete. I swim, bike, and run weekly since 2013 but with much less focus on swim and bike and more on my first love, running. 2) Never say never. I don’t know if I’ll ever make a comeback into triathlon. New Shoe: Nike LunarEpic Flyknit

During the Nike+ Run Club, we were given the chance to test the Nike LunarEpic Flyknit.  I ran in them for a short and fast run around Bonifacio High Street.  I even jumped into some puddles hoping that I’d get them so dirty that Nike wouldn’t want the test shoe back.  Unfortunately, it didn’t work! Hah!

The Nike LunarEpic Flyknit was well-cushioned, responsive, light, and, I must say, very handsome! I’m flat footed so I would feel comfortable using them up for my intervals, tempo runs up to 10k, and recovery runs.  For long distance runs, I would recommend them for neutral runners. (more…)
