We all know how crucial it is for runners to choose and use the proper running shoe for our foot type. But, a large number of runners fail to give importance to the shoe they use when they’re NOT running. Believe it or not, your favorite office shoe, heels, or flipflops, can make (or break you) at your next race.

A few months back, I was lucky enough to learn about Telic. Telic is a new sports recovery sandal which aims to provide comfort and maximum energy absorption to ease joint pain after strenuous activities. It doesn’t only absorb shock, but it actually has a “bounce back” effect. It also has a light heel rock which reduces the pressure on the foot and provides good arch support. (more…)

New Shoe: Nike LunarGlide 6

I’m a huge fan of the Nike LunarGlide, especially Nike LunarGlide 2, which I used for my first 4 marathons!  I think I had around 10 pairs of those!  I kid you not.  The next several updates of the Nike LunarGlide, however, weren’t as great as their predecessors for me.  Now I have the Nike LunarGlide 5, which I can use for 10k training runs.  With the launch of Nike LunarGlide 6, said to be the most stable Nike LunarGlide with lightweight cushioning, I’m curious to know if my feet will love them for long runs. Gear Review: Zensah Compression

Compression technology is still a bit controversial. Some say it works, some think its benefits are all in the mind. As for me, I’ve tried quite a number of brands and I’m a huge believer in compression technology.  Now, if that’s all hallucination, I’m not quite sure because I can be quite cray at times LOL!  Kidding aside.  Compression works wonders for me.  I use them for training runs above 15k, occasionally for races, never ever leave home without them for a marathon since I use them during the marathon and after for quicker recovery.  For races abroad, I even wear calf sleeves on the flight home to aid with blood circulation. Gear Review: Mio Alpha Strapless Heart Rate Watch

The Mio Alpha arrived at my home in a simple, inconspicuous black box with an image of the watch on it.  To be honest with you, I had never heard of this watch so I wasn’t particularly excited about it, but one line completely changed all that for me.  One panel of the box read: “The world’s first performance level, strapless continuous heart rate sport watch!” (more…)
